Shelley Groh is director of storytelling for Allstate Insurance Company. She also leads communications for Allstate’s life and retirement business. Over the past 15 years, Shelley has served as Corporate Relations director for Allstate’s Western Territory, overseeing communications teams in seven regions; corporate spokesperson; regional chair for The Allstate Foundation; and internal communications leader in the company’s Southwest and North Central regions, where she built strong relationships between the company and communities. She is co-chair for Allstate’s women’s leadership employee resource group.

Prior to Allstate, Shelley managed business-to-business and consumer campaigns as integrated marketing communications manager for Navistar International Corporation’s Engine Group, a global leader in the manufacture and sales of diesel engines for commercial and consumer vehicles. She started her career with Grant/Jacoby, an integrated communications firm in Chicago, where she developed public relations, event marketing, customer loyalty, and promotional campaigns for clients including Navistar, Bankers Life and Casualty Company, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation and Cova Financial Services.

Shelley graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 1998 and from Syracuse University with a Master of Science degree in Communications Management in 2013. She has earned professional awards in marketing and media relations, and is the recipient of the 2012 President's Award for Communications Management from IABC/Detroit for strategic communications and the 2010 Best of Best award from IABC/Phoenix for corporate communications.

In her free time, Shelley enjoys boating, volunteering with youth-focused organizations and running long-distance races. She contributes to a blog, On Raising Daughters, and cohosts a podcast, Still Speaking.
